Tinka is a company I have followed for a long time. It has had a good management, tight share structure, yet a string of bad luck with prospective properties showing poor drill results, until yesterday.

On Wednesday, Tinka hit 10m grading 625 g/t Silver and 28m grading 105 g/t Silver in their Peruvian property.

Volume increased but was met with sellers in this dull summer market. Weak hands are being shaken out. Once breaking through 40 cents, we should see TK test 60 cents. With just 22 million shares, TK is a very reasonable speculation at 40cents.

Things at Bolivia have really quieted down, with Mongolia and Ecuador taking over the central political stage. With India’s $multibillion Bolivia steel project and Apex silver due for 25 million oz Ag/yr production at San Cristobal, is it finally Bolivia’s time to shine?

Well, we tried catching a falling knife at Coastport at 50 cents and the TSX ventures correction came. I visited David Patterson on Tuesday. Things in Ecuador seemed to have gone from bad to worse, with the congress now looking into rewriting the mining law. It smells like Bolivia all over again, which means uncertainty more than anything else. Coastport is waiting for the right time to submit the final application for its drill permit; you do not want to get rejected on the first try. Given IAMGOLD is drilling literally few kilometers next to Coastport’s claims, there should not be any environmental concerns. We just have to go in after the political storm calms down and the senate election is out of the way in October. At this time, Coastport has over $4 million in cash.

Gateway Gold is a Nevada play (Visit the Stock Update section at www.goldmau.com for past GTQ updates). Big Spring already has 1.2million oz Au near surface and drills are turning at Mac Ridge which has several interesting surface anomalies. Michael McInnis is back in town next week so I will touch base with him and furnish further updates. Technically, Gateway looks to be a bottom fishing candidate. I own Gateway and look to add more.
